Artists to Watch for in 2014

Screen Shot 2013-08-02 at 11.03.18 AMWhile 2013 was a decent year in music, I have a feeling that 2014 will be even better, with even more innovation and progression.  I tend to have a good eye when scouting, so here are a few people to keep an eye on next year:

Cashmere Cat

I’ve been obsessing over the Norwegian producer for a while now and with a track record like his, he’s only going to grow more this year.  This guy has worked with Wiz Khalifa, is successfully touring the world, and now has over 30k+ Twitter followers (although numbers don’t really matter much).  I look forward to hearing more from him following the impressive Wedding Bells EP.

One of my buddies and I were having a debate on how to pronounce Stwo’s name.  I said it’s “stoh” and he said it’s “st-wo.”  Of course neither of us were correct, as his Facebook says that it’s actually “stew,” but we both can agree that he is killing it right now with his music.  A plethora of remixes ranging from Drake to Cashmere Cat to The Weeknd, Stwo is set to keep growing this year.

After exploding onto the scene last year with his hit track J.A.W.S. (which is still making its rounds), UK producer Lxury has been slowly putting out solid tunes since.  With heavy endorsement from Disclosure and a release on their label Method Records, he is bound to find success.

Wilfred Giroux

He just released his Stronger EP on the new and emerging Polkadot Recordings a couple weeks ago.  The release will be also include 100 limited edition t-shirts.  PR will be releasing subsequent material similarly.

Anyways, these are just a few guys to keep an eye on as the year progresses.  Think I’m missing out on anyone else or disagree with the list?  Shoot me a tweet over on Twitter.
